To begin your career as an affiliate marketer the most common mistakes is thinking that if you create a bland website with many affiliate links you will make a bunch of money. This is not the case people are actually really suspicious when clicking on an affiliate link. Remember that an affiliate link will look like a link to a website with added numbers and letters to the end. There are ways which you can make the link look better by using regular text between the anchor tags rather than the URL. You can also make a picture or banner a link. The majority of affiliate programs out on the web will offer you banners especially the programs within the make money online niche. Personally these are my favorite programs since the majority are free to join and help people build an income. It really doesn’t matter what type of affiliate program you market to have success you will need to try and build a trust with your traffic either through interaction or content.

If you are not sure what type of presence to set up for your new affiliate marketing business you may want to consider a blog. The reason a blog is one of the best presences when trying to build an online business is it allows you to update and publish content with the push of a button. You do not absolutely have to use a blog, but updating a static website will be much more difficult. Once you have a presence whether static or dynamic you will need to publish content. This content will be what distinguishes you from the others within your niche. Make sure to create content that is truly helpful for your traffic. If the traffic finds your web presence a good source of information within their niche then they will be much more likely to trust you and either sign up for your affiliate programs or purchase your affiliate products. Create and publish content on a regular basis this will keep traffic coming back and help bring in new traffic.

Another way to build trust with your traffic and readers is through interaction. If you chose to create a blog then you will be able to reply to comments. You should also sign up for all the major social networking websites such as twitter.com and facebook.com. These websites will allow you to converse with your audience either 1 on 1 or with your audience as a whole. Make sure you place links to your social profiles on your blog or website so your traffic will be able to follow you or send you friend requests. Making yourself available with traffic will build their loyalty and the likely hood of them recommending your website, blog, and blog posts to their friends. These platforms are also an excellent place to let your traffic know which programs and products you recommend. Do not post affiliate link after affiliate link this will make you look like a spammer, but every once in a while it is ok to recommend one of your affiliate programs.
